Does PonyEx pay for driver insurance?

No, you are required to have your own insurance, registration, and licensing fees. Please be aware your insurance may require you add using your vehicle for business purposes to your policy.

Can I do this around my school and work schedule?

Yes! The number of hours you work and when is completely up to you!

I live in Salt Lake County. Where do you deliver?

Upon launch, we are expected of having a delivery range from the Provo Area to North Salt Lake. We will constantly be expanding. You can have the option of accepting deliveries that may be close by or ones that may be further away.

Will I get a W-2 or 1099?

All our drivers are independent contractors. When you complete your direct deposit set-up, you will also sign a 1099 IRS form. Drivers are self-employed, independent contractors who choose to perform delivery services for the customers who use the PonyEx app to request a delivery. At no time does PonyEx control whether or when a driver chooses to offer for a particular delivery.

Can a customer ride in my vehicle?

No, a customer can never ride in your vehicle.

What’s expected of me as a PonyEx driver?

To maintain your driver account with PonyEx, you must complete deliveries in a timely and professional manner, maintain communication with the sender, and maintain a 4-star rating.

You must:

  • you shall hold and maintain (i) a valid driver’s license with the appropriate level of certification to operate your Vehicle, and (ii) all licenses, permits, approvals and authority
  • be least 18 years of age;
  • Have the current level of training, expertise, and experience to provide the delivery services in a professional manner with due skill, care, and diligence
  • maintain high standards of professionalism, service, and courtesy
  • you will not provide services when under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs or any substance that impairs your ability to drive safely and interact with User
  • You are medically fit to drive and to lift at least 125 pounds without causing danger or health risk to yourself.
When do I get paid?

You will set up direct deposit with your bank and will be paid weekly. If you want to be paid daily, a $2.99 processing fee per payment will apply.

What if there is a question or problem during the delivery?

Please contact PonyEx support via email, phone, or text immediately and we will help you resolve any issue.

Can I work for another company while I work for PonyEx?

Yes! As an independent contractor, you have complete control over who you work for and when.

Can I deliver alcohol?

Yes, if the following conditions are met:

  • You must be 21 years of age or older
  • You must verify the recipient is 21 or older
  • You cannot deliver to someone who is visibly intoxicated
Are there items I can’t deliver?

You cannot deliver Prohibited Items. Prohibited items are defined as follows:

  • Any person or animal
  • Articles of exceptional value such as antiques, heirlooms, extravagant furniture, fine art, jewels/jewelry, gold or other precious metals – generally items that are valued at over $2,500 are considered exceptional value
  • Hazardous materials of any kind, including, but not limited to explosives, gases, flammable liquids, flammable solids, and/or poisonous or infectious substances, pool chemicals, paints and solvents, or anything designated by the Department of Transportation as hazardous materials
  • Firearms, ammunition, or other explosive materials
  • Goods for which you have reason to believe are illegal or stolen.
What do I do when I arrive at the pickup location?

Once you accept a delivery, we recommend you wait 20 minutes past designated pickup time for the customer to arrive. You should inspect the items for damage, and report any damage to PonyEx. For larger deliveries,if the customer has requested you help load and unload, you will do so and will be paid an additional rate. If the customer has not requested this,it is up to your discretion if you would like to help load and unload. You are responsible for determining the most effective, efficient, and safe method to deliver the items and must provide all necessary equipment, tools, and other materials.

Are there vehicle requirements?

Yes, your vehicle must be:

  • A car, truck, van, SUV, pickup truck, or box truck
  • properly registered and licensed
  • less than 15 years old without a salvage title
  • suitable for performing the delivery
  • maintained in good operating condition, consistent with industry safety and maintenance standards
What if the items are too heavy or I cannot properly secure the items?

Before accepting a delivery, you will have all the information regarding the size and weight of the items. It is your responsibility to know your physical limitations and the supplies needed to safelysecure the items.

You must be able to:

  • properly distribute and secure the items
  • inspect the items and devices to secure the load prior to beginning trip noting and photographing any existing damage
  • have clear visibility on all sides of your vehicle
  • use extreme caution and care with delivery items
Do I have to wear a uniform?

No, as an independent contractor, what you wear is up to you! If you would like to use our logo to help promote the platform, that is up to you!

How do I get paid?

PonyEx will collect the fare from the customer on your behalf. You will receive this fare less a service fee paid to the PonyEx for facilitating the delivery. All tipswill be processed by our system but aren’t subject to the service fee and will go directly to you. PonyEx will reduce its service fee when you achieve certain benchmarks.

The Service Fee Reduction Bonus calculation may comprise of average star ratings, number of positive reviews, referrals, punctuality, completed deliveries and number of times a driver has been favorited. You will also receive a percentage of your referred driver’s service-fee reduction bonus.

What if a customer cancels on me?

If a customer cancels when you are en-route, the rate will be $10 for aPony/PonyEx delivery and $20 for a PonyXL or PonyExpress delivery.
